Charity of Choice

Introducing our Charity of Choice...

Keep New Zealand Beautiful is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to keeping our communities clean, safe and beautiful. Our campaigns ‘Be A Tidy Kiwi’ and ‘Do the Right Thing’ have been part of New Zealand culture for nearly 50 years. Our rainbow logo is as recognisably Kiwi as L&P and jandals, and still proudly worn on  t-shirts today.

We started out in 1967 tackling litter as the Anti Litter Council, and that’s still a big part of what we do. Today, though, our work includes graffiti removal and reduction and waste minimisation and recycling initiatives. Our wider environmental projects include community beautification and clean-up events, tree and garden planting and waterways and highway restoration.

Some of our latest work has included our boisterous but loveable Mama Nature, after we recognised the need to develop a behaviour change campaign when a recent Clean Up Week netted enough rubbish to fill 120 rugby fields, ½ a metre deep. Mama Nature was developed by KNZB to encourage Kiwis to do the right thing with their litter. Mama Nature cracks down on those who litter and celebrates the “beyooo-diful” behaviour of those who do the right thing and put their litter in the bin.
